Songstress Luan Parle announced as Face of Wicklow Round Ireland Sail Fest 2010

Stunning songstress Luan Parle has been announced as the face of the Round Ireland Sail Fest 2010.

The multi-award winning artist, who hails from Wicklow Town will be singing the closing notes of the festival following the start of the Round Ireland Yacht Race on Sunday 20th June from Wicklow Bay.

The concert will be free to attend and is set to attract thousands of visitors to the town.

Luan says she is thrilled to support the festival.  "I was very lucky to grow up in Wicklow Town, right beside the sea.  I love the sea and as a child I would spend hours watching the sailboats come in.  I am honoured to be the face of the Round Ireland Sail Fest for the 30th anniversary of the Round Ireland Race."


Luan is one of many great acts that are lined up for the festival - the committee is also flying in the American Drifters for a gala performance on Saturday 19th of June and a host of other acts will be performing in the town over the festival weekend.


Festival fever is set to take over the town with non-stop music, events, food and fashion showcases, a gala bowling tournament, face painting and Mardi Gras balls.

The Conway Media Round Ireland Yacht Race departs Wicklow Bay at 12 noon on Sunday 20th June 2010 from Wicklow Bay.

PRIDE OF WICKLOW
The Pride of Wicklow is one of the local Wicklow boats entering the Round Ireland Race 2010.

The boat will be crewed by the Young Sailors of Wicklow who are aged between 19 to 21 years, giving them a life changing opportunity of a lifetime.

The boat a Corby 45 one off design is more than capable of Winning the race. It was built in 1998 and won the Round the Isles (Ireland & UK) in 2000. It was totally refitted in 2008 and is fully race ready.
